Barbie Ferreira Will Not Return for Euphoria Season 3

Kat Hernandez will no longer attend East Highland High School.

After two seasons of Euphoria as one of the fan favorites Kat Hernandez, Barbie Ferreira leaves the show for good.

On her Instagram story on August 25th, Ferreira says, "After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character Kat, I'm having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye. I hope many of you could see yourself in her [as] I did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today. I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it. I love you, Katherine Hernandez." The announcement went along with her first fanart of Kat drawn by co-star and actress Hunter Schafer.

Euphoria's creator Sam Levinson is possibly at fault for Ferreira's departure. After all, Kat barely had any screen time throughout the second season. She regressed from one of the main characters to a recurring one. To make matters worse, reports were swirling around that she and Levinson were having issues behind the scenes. This is due to Ferreira allegedly refusing to play into Kat's original story arc that involved an eating disorder for season two.

On the bright side, fans of Euphoria and everyone here at KODE wish Ferreira the best of luck with her next career moves. We await to see her beauty and grace on our screens again!
