Now that TikTok stopped posting about Spa Water, Cowboy Caviar, and the Clean Girl Aesthetic, Hailey Bieber brings cultural appropriation back with a brand new trend called Brownie Glazed Lips.

Whether or not Bieber meant to use this trend to get clout off of cultural appropriation, Brownie Glazed Lips is nothing brand new. It's a shade of dark brown or burgundy lipstick that's coated in lip gloss. Yes, it's perfect for a fall makeup look. However, it's not like she is the first person to try something that's been done before.

Iconic women of color from Selena Quintanilla to Aaliyah were the first to rock a brown lip. In the same way, they were the first to rock the Clean Girl Aesthetic.

The top thing that should be celebrated with trends like Brownie Glazed Lips is that black and brown women are the first to create these kinds of aesthetics and makeup looks. They should be treated with much more respect and appreciation for giving the world as much heart and beauty as they do in the entertainment industry.

Don't let Bieber get all the credit for a recycled trend. Celebrate everyone that rocks this trend just as much as her.
