Beyoncé's Renaissance Is Here

The Renaissance is here to stay and slay.

On July 29th, 2022, Beyoncé dropped her seventh-awaited studio album Renaissance. Despite the album leaking before the release date, everybody else got a chance to listen to the album properly.

In an Instagram post — one day before the release of Renaissance — Beyoncé says, “So, the album leaked, and you all actually waited until the proper release time so you all can enjoy it together. I’ve never seen anything like it. I can’t thank y’all enough for your love and protection. I appreciate you for calling out anyone that was trying to sneak into the club early. It means the world to me. Thank you for your unwavering support. Thank you for being patient. We are going to take our time and enjoy the music. I will continue to give my all and do my best to bring you joy.”

Without further ado, let’s get into the album real quick. So Renaissance is dance-oriented with a few hip-hop songs such as CHURCH GIRL and THIQUE. Additionally, one song calls back to Bey’s R&B roots, and that song is PLASTIC OFF THE SOFA.

Overall, Renaissance takes on a musical departure from Bey’s previous discography that is either R&B-oriented or hip-hop-oriented. The album could take some time to grow on Beyhive fans whose musical taste leans towards more R&B, soul, and hip-hop. However, the album has already won over hardcore Beyhive fans who rock with anything Beyoncé puts out. So as long as her music continues bringing joy in one shape or form, that’s all that matters.

Renaissance is streaming now!
